Abstract

A prospective study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of systemic methotrexat treatment in combination with its local injection under ultrasound guidance ¡n unruptured ectopic pregnancy. This was carried out in Mayo Hospital, Lahore in collaboration with Lady Aitchison Hospital, Lahore. A total of 152 women admitted with diagnosis of extrauterine pregnancy but only 30 women fulfilled the criteria for our protocol. In 90% women no further surgical intervention was required (27/30) and 80% had intrauterine pregnancy within 15 months of treatment. However, 10% failed to respond to medical  treatment and needed surgery.
