COMPLAINTS POLICY

Annals of King Edward Medical University (Annals of King Edward Medical University) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity, transparency, fairness, and publication ethics. The Journal welcomes complaints regarding its editorial processes, published content, editorial decisions, or the conduct of editors, reviewers, authors, editorial staff, or the publisher.

Complaints should be submitted by email to publications@kemu.edu.pk with the subject line "COMPLAINT". Sufficient details and supporting documentation should be provided to facilitate an appropriate investigation.

Complaints may relate to, but are not limited to:

  • Editorial decisions or delays in manuscript processing.
  • Peer review concerns, including reviewer bias, breach of confidentiality, or inappropriate reviewer conduct.
  • Authorship disputes, including ghost, gift, or honorary authorship.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, simultaneous submission, citation manipulation, or other forms of publication misconduct.
  • Fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or manipulation of research data.
  • Concerns regarding ethical approval, informed consent, or research involving human or animal participants.
  • Copyright infringement or other intellectual property concerns.
  • Alleged misconduct involving editors, reviewers, authors, editorial staff, or the publisher.

Upon receipt, each complaint will be acknowledged and undergo an initial assessment by the Editorial Complaints Committee, comprising two members of the Editorial Board who are independent of the matter under review. The Committee will conduct a preliminary evaluation, seek additional information where necessary, and provide recommendations to the Editorial Board regarding the appropriate course of action.
